This may sound very stupid but I find that 600ml boxes can hold more food than I can actually eat!
My mum has always cooked in "diet" way as my dad and my grandmother can't eat salt, and she is particularly picky about me getting fat (I am not at all, though) so due to that I'm used to eat very small portions.
I've been searching for bento boxes that are around a 500 ml capacity but I don't find them... And I'm afraid that little "side dish" boxes (those around 250-300 ml) may be too small.
Any help? I'm not sure about how to measure the capacity in a box so I have a little problem there.
Or maybe the problem is not the capacity but the quantity or kind of food I put in the box. Maybe I should cut out the carbs and put more veggies? This is sooo complicated!
I actually own a red 2 tier Urara box and a box that has only one tier (i like it much better).
Thank you!!! *n_n*

Don't cut the carbs right out, but you could certainly replace some of them with veges. But remember that you don't need to have a "proper" bento box - there are plenty of plastic lidded containers that you can use in heaps of different sizes and shapes. Do they have shops like "Payless Plastics" or suchlike in Spain? Where you go to buy plastic containers for your pantry and laundry?
As far as measuring the capacity of your boxes goes, all you need is a measuring cup of some sort, or scales. And if you don't have either of those you should get at least one! Fill your box with water, then either a) pour the water into a measuring cup/jug/whatever and see how much there is, or b) pour it into a bowl on your scales and see how much it weighs. By definition, 1 millilitre of water weighs 1 gram. So 500ml of water will weigh 500g, 650 ml will weigh 650g etc.

wow thanks! That's a lot of help! *n_n*
Yeah there are lots of cheap homeware shops here, I guess they will work...
I prefer bento boxes anyway because I have a very very 'high-responsability' job (financial consultancy) and I'm trying to scape from my horrible routine! :) But I guess the box is not the point, but the food!

Muji has (or at least had) a small bento box. I'm not sure of the exact dimensions and I'm too lazy to go measure it now :P
But it's smaller that my Urara box. http://www.muji.eu/pages/online.asp?V=1&Sec=4&Sub=25&PID=1066
It's listed on the italian site (but not on the uk one) but it says it's not available for online shopping, and the price is cheaper so I fear it's been discontinued :/
As well as including more vegetation, it may be you need to cut down on protien, as protein suppresses your appatite somewhat. Most pepole think they need much more than they do, and don't count it in things like bread. Assuming your about average in most things, you probably only need an egg or something for a whole days worth (although that's as a minimum really).
However, I'm aware bento boxes still seem a bit big even then. If you find a good one, do tell me (although the freind I feed my spare food too may not forgive you).
Lol!
Well I've packed my first bento today and I put everything in my 1-tier box... I think it may be like 550 ml... (i don't know and I can't take it out in the office lol) so I'll tell you after lunch :)

Yeah.... 550 ml and it was de absolute PERFECT size for me. So now I know what to take :)
Thanks for the help people! :D
These are about 500 ml, I believe. I have one I got from Ichiban Kan and it's a nice smaller bento box:
