do you take sushirolls in your bento?

I have been bento-ing for a year now (and still loving it!) and I have some favourites now. One of them is sushirolls, mainly because they are easy to make, they freeze well (and then keep well in my bento till lunch) and I love them!
Of course I don't make them with raw fish, that would be dangerous, but with cucumber, surimi, tinned tuna (or other fish) made into a sort of mousse with mayo and wasabi or chilisauce.... great!!

I was wondering if you take sushirolls in your bento too, and if so, what filling(s) dou you use? I'm looking for new things to try!

My standard sushi roll fillings are crabstick and tamagoyaki. Sometimes I add cheese, but the hubby says it tastes weird.

I'm a big tuna and sweetcorn fan.
I often do cooked prawns with marie rose dressing or something lemony, sweet chilli chicken (but you really have to cut the chicken into long strips and roll it tightly otherwise it falls apart and teriyaki beef (boyfriend's favourite).

I want to try canned crab meat too.

Sounds weird, but bear with me...
Chilli-roasted Squash and Cream Cheese! It's to die for, especially if you ramp up the chilli levels. Roast some squash/pumpkin (even sweet potato) cut into slices with chilli flakes and some vegetable oil, until the edges of the pieces are beginning to blacken and they are nice and soft. You could add a wee bit of La Yu Chilli Oil for some punch! These can be popped in the oven and left so they're not labour intensive although you will probably need to turn them once.
Let cool, cut into maki-sized sticks, then begin your maki roll as normal. Smear a little cream cheese along the maki, then lay on the squash pieces, then roll and cut and try not to eat immediately! Roasted or grilled red pepper is yummy in this, or on its own, too.
We always have low fat cream cheese; even so, it's not dead healthy, but it is delicious!

Not yet, as there are very few sushi forms I like, but just tried one yesterday and thought I need to attempt this at home.

pii_bii that sounds fantastic!!! I'm always looking for new "stuffing" because my son and I could probably eat sushi every single day!

We do California rolls, the lemon-soy nuggets here on Maki's site with cucumber and carrot, veggies with strips of inari skins, sauteed shrimp, roasted sweet potatoes with sriracha mayo and cucumber, spicy tuna (canned tuna with sriracha and mayo), jalapeno poppers with avocado. I almost always use cucumber, avocado and green onion as well as a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds. For the 2nd day of school my son requested wasabi shrimp sushi so I sent that. I also love adding cream cheese when we have it.

Wow, that roasted pumpkin definitely sounds great! And the whole cheese-thing scares me a little bit too, but I still want to try it! I tried to make a spicy filling with canned tuna, mayonnaise and chilli sauce, but next time I will try it with the sriracha and mayonnaise, I hope it will be a bit spicier!
