Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

CasaBento is one of the biggest online bento box and accessory sellers. They have a diverse selection of bento boxes, in all kinds of styles from cute-kawaii to sophisticated and traditional. They also carry other useful products for bento makers, such as 220V Zojirushi rice cookers - very hard to get a hold of in most of Europe, unless you live near a Japanese store. (Another bonus for European bento fans: they promise 2-3 day shipping here! For other regions of the world it’s 4-8 days, which is still pretty fast.)

CasaBento ships worldwide, and includes prepaid custom fees in their shipping charges (with the exception of the rice cookers), so you don’t have to worry about paying more before you get your hands on your bento goodies.

And this is the giveaway item that CasaBento is offering to JustBento readers - a Tokyo Japan Bento Box Set, with everything you need to get started with your bento-making!

This set includes a colorful plastic two-tier bento box with a clear top lid, under which the matching chopsticks and spoon (both included of course) slot in nicely. There’s also a cute matching color bento belt, and a drawstring carrying bag. The total capacity of the two tiered box is 580ml, which is a great size for adults with small to average appetites or older kids.

The Tokyo Japan Bento Box Set is available in eight colors, and the winner gets to choose a set in the color of his or her choice. The colors kind of remind me of those candy-colored 2nd generation iMacs!

How to enter the CasaBento giveaway

Update: This giveaway is now closed. Thanks everyone for partcipating! The winner will be announced later this week.

This giveaway is open to everyone, worldwide - or at least, anywhere that CasaBento can ship! (If in doubt, please ask them first. I’m not sure they ship to Antarctica, for example.)

To enter, just leave a comment to this post. The question to answer for this giveaway is - If you could choose to go to just one city that you’ve never been to, where would that be, and why? (OK it’s not quite bento related, but I’m running out of ideas ^_^;)

Be sure to include a valid email address where you can be contacted in the appropriate text box! Your comment must be posted by 23:59:59 EDT (U.S. East Coast Time) (or just before midnight) of Sunday, August 22th 2010. One lucky entry will be drawn at random to receive the Tokyo Japan Bento box. Good luck!

This is Giveaway No. 3 of Back To School Week. Stay tuned for more throughout the week!

Goodness, there are so many places I would love to experience! My actual list of destinations has about a dozen cities, but I think I would pick Yerevan, in Armenia. I'm Armenian and I've learned so much about the country's history last year at school. So many possibilities, though....

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I know this sounds wierd, but I'd go to Shimane prefecture. My understanding is that it's a fairly wild, mountainous region of Japan with a lot of beautiful vistas, and fresh local produce from the surrounding region and the sea. But mostly, I want to go there because the Japanese family that my family has corresponded with for two generations lives there. :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to Tokyo! It will probably be a while before I get the chance to though as I just made a move to York in the U.K. for the next year or so. Oh well, I'm that much closer to visiting Paris, Edinburgh, and Dublin!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to Reykjavik, Iceland. It has such a diverse environment and would be a real treat to go there.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Well, if I could go anywhere in the world, it would be Japan or England, but my one favorite city would probably be Kyoto. I, of course, want to go to Tokyo, but something about how Kyoto is still a mixture of the old (the temples, the slightly more laid-back city than Tokyo) and the new just makes me love it so much. I can't think of anywhere else to go if I ever got the chance.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Let's see. I would probably like to go to Izmir, Turkey. A great friend of mine offered to take me a few years back, but I declined. Now, I'm totally kicking myself in the toosh! I can't believe I let myself miss out on the beautiful architecture, the great food, the culture, and beautiful beaches! I hear they have great nightclubs too :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to Santorini, Greece. I've read articles and books that mention the amazing positive energy felt there and the pictures I have seen are absolutely breathtakingly gorgeous.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Another vote for Istanbul, Turkey, here! And the best thing is that I'll be travelling there soon.

*lol* I've been actually thinking a lot about this particular question in the last couple of days. Originally, we intended to visit Moscow and Saint Petersburg this summer. But we had to cancel our plans due to the fires there.
We then thought about Cairo and the pyramids but couldn't get a flight on such short notice. (And summer is not a good time to travel to Egypt, anyway.)
So we decided to go to Istanbul with its thousands of years of history. I've never been to Turkey and so I'm really excited.
Of course, I still hope to be able to see Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Cairo. And wouldn't mind Japan either. Maybe it'll be possible one day. But for the time being I'm totally happy with Istanbul.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Tokyo for sure!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would like to go to Okinawa, in order to taste the famed Bitter Cucumber. That my husband didn't have the guts to sneak back to the states for me. After he got to go all over Japan, for weeks. Twice. But I am not bitter. Just the cucumbers are :-)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would go to Koln in Germany because that is where my childhood lies.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

If I had a choice of cities to visit, I would probably visit Osaka. I've read a lot of Meitantei Conan, and really like the character of Heiji Hattori, who is from Osaka. I've never been to Japan, though I would love to try and study abroad there :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to Rome. I have family all over Italy that I've never met, but I'd really like to go to Rome, too.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Nagano, Japan. They serve a unique bento lunch called Kamameshi bento, which I'd like to try. The scenery in Nagano prefecture is also quite spectacular.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would choose to go to Florence, Italy. I've never been to anywhere in Italy (or Europe for that matter) and I'd love to explore the arts and culture associated with Italy. Not to mention the superb food and coffee!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

If I had to pick only one city that I haven't been to, it would be Berlin for the art galleries, museums and cafes.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

The first city that pops into my mind is Tokyo, I mean come on, we are on a site about bentos.
BUT! I thought I would try to be a little more creative on this since a good majority will say Tokyo.
I would looooooooove to go to Paris~ I took my first year of French this past year and I absolutely adore the language. And it's beautiful there. ^_^

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

My choice would be WELLINGTON, in New Zealand for the incredible, superb, absolutely stunning landscapes where movies such as the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Last Samurai and others were filmed. From Wellington you can visit both the North Island and the South Island and I have been told from a person who traveled around the world that going from the North Island to the South Island is like visiting the whole world :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to return to Kyoto Japan. My last visit was about 30 years ago and I hadn't prepared myself for the trip. In other words, I just went and saw but didn't really understand what I was looking at or experiencing.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Only one??
Auckland, New Zealand - I am fascinated by the culture and history of New Zealand and it looks so beautiful!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I dream of going to New York City; it's so often featured in movies and books and photos, for good reason. It's so iconic and I want to go for the hustle-bustle thrill of a city so alive and so full of humanity. The sort of city where you can feel its pull and its electric pulse from an aircraft high above the state, or from halfway around the world.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to Kyoto! The otaku in me would love it! I also have a fascination to Geishas. :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd go to TOKYO, JAPAN! I've never been there and I want to eat all the food there!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

London -- because of all the history, beautiful buildings and museums, people from all over the world travel through London, and the night life!!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

That is a tough question. Prague, I'd have to say.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I really love New York, but I've already been there. So a city I would like to visit that I've never been to is Tokyo. Kind of expected, but I love big metropolitan cities with lots of people. And I've always liked the idea of getting a little lost in the complicated subway system.
