Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

CasaBento is one of the biggest online bento box and accessory sellers. They have a diverse selection of bento boxes, in all kinds of styles from cute-kawaii to sophisticated and traditional. They also carry other useful products for bento makers, such as 220V Zojirushi rice cookers - very hard to get a hold of in most of Europe, unless you live near a Japanese store. (Another bonus for European bento fans: they promise 2-3 day shipping here! For other regions of the world it’s 4-8 days, which is still pretty fast.)

CasaBento ships worldwide, and includes prepaid custom fees in their shipping charges (with the exception of the rice cookers), so you don’t have to worry about paying more before you get your hands on your bento goodies.

And this is the giveaway item that CasaBento is offering to JustBento readers - a Tokyo Japan Bento Box Set, with everything you need to get started with your bento-making!

This set includes a colorful plastic two-tier bento box with a clear top lid, under which the matching chopsticks and spoon (both included of course) slot in nicely. There’s also a cute matching color bento belt, and a drawstring carrying bag. The total capacity of the two tiered box is 580ml, which is a great size for adults with small to average appetites or older kids.

The Tokyo Japan Bento Box Set is available in eight colors, and the winner gets to choose a set in the color of his or her choice. The colors kind of remind me of those candy-colored 2nd generation iMacs!

How to enter the CasaBento giveaway

Update: This giveaway is now closed. Thanks everyone for partcipating! The winner will be announced later this week.

This giveaway is open to everyone, worldwide - or at least, anywhere that CasaBento can ship! (If in doubt, please ask them first. I’m not sure they ship to Antarctica, for example.)

To enter, just leave a comment to this post. The question to answer for this giveaway is - If you could choose to go to just one city that you’ve never been to, where would that be, and why? (OK it’s not quite bento related, but I’m running out of ideas ^_^;)

Be sure to include a valid email address where you can be contacted in the appropriate text box! Your comment must be posted by 23:59:59 EDT (U.S. East Coast Time) (or just before midnight) of Sunday, August 22th 2010. One lucky entry will be drawn at random to receive the Tokyo Japan Bento box. Good luck!

This is Giveaway No. 3 of Back To School Week. Stay tuned for more throughout the week!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would like to visit Katmandu in Nepal.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd love to try the food and experience the culture in Bangkok, Thailand .... or Dar es Salaam, Tanzania - to go on safari ... I'd love to see old Kyoto, Japan and experience a tea ceremony ... The Island of Capri, Italy! Anywhere the food is fabulous and preferrably the sea is nearby!

Weeeeeeeee Casa Bento! Liking the colors of those bentos! My kids like the orange and yellow.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

France and Japan ,especially Hokkaido. I read manga and many of them said about the city with Lavender Field (Provence also have that) and Hokkaido is renowed for its cuisine, which probably are from nice weather and caring famer.

P.S. Sorry for a lousy writing. I'm a student in Thailand and i follow your blog for a long time.
I want you to know that your blog inspired me but the nice-quality bento lunch box
is so expensive T_T . So I tried my luck in this giveaway and hope to get this time.
P.S.S Keep up your good work !

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to Kyoto. I have heard it is very traditional and beautiful. There are a few parcs around the town and it seems beautiful any time of the year.
I have been trying to go for a few years now, and I promised myself I would go next spring "no matter what".
Seeing all the posts from Maki and cooking Obento on a regular basis only makes me ache to go even more ^^

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go anywhere in Europe, but if I had to choose one I think it would be Naples, Italy. Since I took an Italian class last year I have been very interested in going there. I would be able to muddle my way through the language and I love the food. I like the laid back speed of life there, instead of the rush of American cities they are alright with taking their time.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Hmm. any city in the world...
I would definitely go to Prague! Culture, castles, beer and food, omg sounds amazing. It's totally on my wish list for the next 7 years! ^_^

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I want to go to Sapporo in Hokkaido because I heard there is delicious ice cream and seafood. I had awesome Hokkaido-made ice cream when I visited Tokyo last year, and I would love to go to Sapporo to eat more. :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Berlin, Germany. I was stationed in West Germany in the 80's, but never made the trip to divided Berlin. I'd love to see how reunification has affected the city.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Rome or Pompeii . I love the architecture of the romans and the art history there! London is also up there as well. I'm from Toronto Canada so i've only been to the States and around Canada and a few times to Hong Kong where my parents are from. I really want to be able to go to Europe after i graduate in two years!

On a side note those are such cute bentos! If i win i'm not sure which color i'd choose. I think if i got one i would end up buying the other 7! one for every day of the week and one extra just because.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

That's a hard decision, but at the moment I think I'd most like to go to Montreal.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Venice is my top priority ^^ an absolutely beautiful place~

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Hm... just one? I'd love to go to Rome, but for now I'll say New York, because it's further away and there are so many cultures present there. Plus, I'd love to see a Broadway-show!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I've wanted to visit Barcelona since I was in high school. I did a huge research paper on the city and just fell in love with it.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I know it sounds crazy, but I'd like simply like to go to Cleveland, Ohio at the moment. It doesn't require a passport or a plane ticket really. It's only three states away, so a nice short road trip will do. I'd like to try just about everything on the menus at Michael Symon's Lolita and Lola.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to go to Vaasa, Finland. That is where my friend (a foreign exchange student) lives after coming to study in the US for a year. The only way we can keep in touch is by mail and electronic means, but it would be an awesome opportunity to visit her in her own country, and experience what its like to be immersed in a completely foreign culture.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I want to visit Cairo, Egypt. I like traveling to experience different cultures that I would otherwise not really get to interact with. Not to mention I have never had Egyptian food :p

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

One city? Would I be stuck there? Could I bring a friend? ^.^ I'd love to visit Miyazaki in the southeastern part of Kyushu. One of my friends is going to school there, and I'd love to visit.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would go to Senegal...my grandmother is Senegalese, and she always talks about wanting to return to Dakar. I would love to see the street my family grew up on and to sample the local cuisine!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I think I'd want to go to South Korea. Maybe visit Jeju Island or something there.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Seeing as this is a bento blog, I'm not surprised Kyoto and Tokyo are both very common responses...and they apply to me as well! =P

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Hmm a tough question! so many great places. First one that popped in my head was Seville, spain because my sister studied abroad there and when i visited her i fell in love with it! The beautiful, old buildings and just hearing a different language 24/7 was awesome.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to visit some random town in Japan. Tokyo is the usual choice, but since I grew up in a small town, I love to visit smaller towns to really see different cultures. Of course, not speaking Japanese might be a small problem.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I want to see Madagascar, especially the lemurs (before they are wiped out :(
That's not a city, so if I have to pick one, I'd say Antananarivo, the capital, because once I get there I'd be close to many of the really cool national parks. Also, it has great markets, history, and so on.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I love these! They're adorable and so many colors to choose from!

I really, really, really want to go back to Kyoto. I love Tokyo, too, but I'm a huge sucker for the historic places. Plus, I love autumn leaves, so it is my dream to see Kyoto in the fall one day.

If I had to choose a place I'd never been, I'd say Galway in Ireland. Again, it's due to the historic stuff. I studied some Irish Gaelic in college, so it'd be a great opportunity to use it and see it on signs and such.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Hmm.. that's a tough one. I've got a huge list of countries I want to visit.

I think I'd go to Dublin, Ireland and take a whole bunch of tours. I'm part Irish, and I've always wanted to go crazy taking pictures in Ireland. :-P Of course, I'd also spend some time just sitting around listening to everybody - LOOOVE the accent.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to visit Tokyo. I love Japanese culture, especially how different the views on religion, body, and responsibility are from the American standard. It is a beautiful country and i plan on going sometime in the next few years. I'm taking japanese soon so I hope I'll know a little bit by then!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd like to see Helsinki, Finland. I'm really curious what it feels like when sun is up in the middle of the night.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd love to visit Ireland...

Thank you for this giveaway, Maki !

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I want to go to Paris- not because of the shopping...because of the art! I want to visit the Louvre and the Centre Pompidou!!!
As a student I have to save money for that: this is one of the reasons why I pack my lunch box every day!

So please give me a new box, so I can carry my lunch with style :-)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Do ancient cities count? My husband and I really want to visit Machu Picchu. It's at the top of our bucket list.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would go to Cairo. I would love to see the pyramids and the Nile.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I've been rather fortunate so far in my life with how much I've been able to travel. I've been to Germany, Austria, Australia, and Iceland and I'm only 21. But I'd love to be able to visit France, Russia, the UK, and (of course) Japan. I don't know if I could pick anyone city though. But if I really had to pick somewhere in particular that I'd go... I think I'd have to go to Shiga Prefecture in Tokyo Japan because I'd love to go to the Toyosato elementary school which was what the school in K-ON! was based off of. It'd be so neat to see.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Johannesburg, South Africa. In college a friend went for several weeks over the summer. I wanted to go but couldn't afford the airfare. She sent weekly emails with pics of the amazing wildlife preserves, spectacular scenery, and told of the amazingly friendly people. I would still love to go.

Second up would be Havana, Cuba. I would like to see what it's like to step back in time.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would go to Dublin since I hear the people are nice and the scenery is beautiful. Also, there's something appealing about going to a pub and getting a Guinness as well. :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I'd like to visit Seoul... an Iranian friend of ours was there for a seminar and he loved it... not sure if that's a reference, but still :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

That's easy for me - I want to go to Takarazuka! See the shows, hang out and try to catch glimpses of the Takarisiennes.... Ah, it would be fun.

Someday I'll make it!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to visit Dubrovnik in Slovenia. It's supposed to be a beautiful coastal town with plenty of history and sunshine.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would say anywhere in Germany or New York City for the U.S. choice;) Checking out your site!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

Reykjavik. I can't say I've never been, because I was born not too far from there. But I left the country before I could remember anything. I'd love to go back and learn about their culture and experience it for myself.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would like to go to the island of Cyprus and see the seaside city of Limmasol where there are few people on the beach and tall palm trees and the Mediterranean Sea. I would try to climb Mt. Olympus and see ancient culture and modern culture mixed.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would love to visit the island of Ischia off the coast of Naples in Italy.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

I would like to visit Buenos Aires, Argentina to see some authentic tango dance and enjoy the fresh seafood and local cuisine!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from CasaBento

It's not very Asian, but I've had Versailles in France on my list of places to go before I die, since I was a teenager. I read a novel that took place there and have always wanted to see the rooms that the characters in the book supposedly played games in, dueled, or made love. It sparked my love for the French language and other cultures immensly, and I've become fascinated with people in general as a result.
