It is my birthday. I’d like to treat myself to a nice bento set. Something grown up, with a nice matching bag and chopsticks. It doesn’t have to be a thermal set. Any suggestions guys? Oh and where ever I make my purchase, the supplier has to be able to ship to the UK! Maximum budget I have set aside for this is £40 ($60 or E45) and I’d really like that to be shipping included!
Suggestions welcome please!

Happy birthday! I have no idea what you should get though. I just got a really nice box, but a friend bought it in Japan for me.

I'm sorry I can't give a suggestion either, I can only recommend what I already have, which is the previous model of this lunchbox:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/THERMOS-BENTO-LUNCH-BOX-1T_W0QQitemZ250572544524QQ...
Which was blue rather than orange. I like metal boxes with plastic lids like this as I find them very easy to clean.
The price is even a little less than how I remember from a regular Japanese shop and the P&P charges are very reasonable. Also, as the price is under £18 for the actual box you won't get lumbered with the VAT(17.5%) plus the £12.50 Royal Mail Handling charge. Do watch out for that when ordering!
And I also wish you a very happy birthday!
Happy Birthday! Isn't it fun to hunt for bento birthday stuff? (My mom thought I was crazy asking for a plastic box for Christmas!)
Casa Bento has some lovely sets. I've personally been drooling over the ones like this Concorde Large Design Bento Box. (Though you'd have to find chopsticks to go with it) Or this cool white and clear Tokyo Japan Design Bento Set. It looked like they ship to the UK (and they're just over in France).
Loretta's suggestion looks tempting too!
This Mottainai set is own I own and love. J-list/j-box ships anywhere.
I also have bento sets in my etsy shop and I ship to the UK too.
I hope those suggestions help!

Happy birthday to you!
Scouring Ebay might be a good idea. I've gotten entire lovely sets on Ebay for less than $20 including shipping (unfortunately, none of those sellers have a great price for international shipping). If you have the patience to scroll through twenty pages of Ebay listings, you'll probably find something great.
Have you tried casa bento?
arkonitebabe, you'll let us know what you end up purchasing so we can happily drool over pictures, right?
Oh I see on your blog you found an absolutely adorable bento set!. ;) Congrats! I'm so glad you found one you like!
Sorry for taking so long to come back you guys *blush*
I ended up ordering this box from jlist/jbox

A gorgeous Hello Kitty wagara box. I'm currently waiting patiently for it to arrive from Japan! I'll post it on the blog when it does arrive though :)
