The semi-final round is over. Vote for the winner here!

It’s now the semi-finals of the Vegetarian Bento Contest! The voting has been quite heavy (more than 700 votes cast in total!) and very close indeed.

Once again, please take a look carefully at each entry. Vote for your top 2 favorites from the list on or before 23:59:59 CET of Friday, June 19th, and send in your choices to contestvote [at] justhungry [dot] com. The two bento entries that gather the most votes will then go on for the Final Bento Showdown!

There are 15 semi-finalists, since there was actually a tie in one group. Here are your semi-finalists, in no particular order.

You will see that a couple of people have more than one bento in the semis. In the event that the same person’s bentos are the top two vote getters, the entry that has the most votes of the two will go through to the Final 2, with another person’s entry as the other choice.

Good luck to all the semi-finalists!

To repeat: Vote for your top 2 favorites from the list on or before 23:59:59 CET of Friday, June 19th, and send in your choices to contestvote [at] justhungry [dot] com. The two bentos that gather the most votes will then go on for the Final Bento Showdown!

Re: DESPARATE!

Hi Chandra,

Kobo Aizawa doesn't sell their bento boxes directly to the public; however Bento & Co. now carries a the box you are talking about. Here's the direct link. Now...I know it's all in French! But don't worry, just contact them - contact page in English, and Thomas will take care of you. They ship all over the world, and yep we've been bugging them about translating their site to English for ages :) Those stainless steel boxes are expensive, but very durable (and the Bento & Co. prices are quite reasonable compared to how much they retail for in Japan)

DESPARATE!

I've been looking at this site for a long time going 'someday, someday I'll do that' in my head. Well, I finally went to buy a bento (the 670ml stainless steel one from Kobo Aizawa to be exact) and for the life of me I can't figure out how to purchase it. Mainly because I don't read Japanese very well yet. OK OK I'm still a complete beginner who can only make out hiragana but still doesn't know what any of it means. But at least I could search the words and figure it out. Well, I managed to get one into a cart and now I'm stuck. I even downloaded google translator but for some reason it won't work on the checkout page. So, my question is do they even ship to United States? And if so how can I navigate their page?? ...like I said, I am desparate.. and ready to cry after trying for so long to figure this out. IF there is ANY way you could guide me, I would be SO in your debt, and if not, at least thanks for reading my plea :).

anon.
