Hi! I'm a college student taking a break because of health problems. I love almost everything about Japan, I even made my own website called Sugoi Japan. I've been playing the clarinet for about 14 years. I know about 8 languages. I've just got into bento making, in fact, today was my first day. I've been wanting to make them for a while, but today I got up the nerve to do one. I don't eat pork or shellfish, because of my religion, but it seems there's lots of other options.
I did a sandwich bento. Not very traditional, but it's similar to what I eat normally. Plus, right now I'm using tupperware for my box, but at least it's a container. ^_^'
Sandwich:
-Whole wheat bread
-Sliced Cajun Turkey breast
-Colby Jack
-horseradish and mayo mixed. (awesome combo!)
Cut up pieces lengthwise, and filled up to a half of my bento. For a quarter of it I made a salad of mixed greens and a little honey mustard vinaigrette. The last quarter was apple slices. I think it turned out pretty well. Not too fancy, but tasty. Hope to make some fellow bento maker friends, and to get some easy recipes.
Never Give Up!
