I've been making bento meals on and off for several years now, and I'm eager to share recipes, inspiration, and pictures with the community here. Bento brings together lots of bits which are important to me: yummy food, beauty, and thriftiness form the core. Culturally, I'm Danish & American, and many of the places I've lived had definitely rubbed off on me --particularly Italy & France. Somehow, around 70% of the food I cook ends up being Chinese, Korean, Japanese, or Vietnamese: lucky me :-) I knit, make jewelry, read, garden, fly-fish, and love spending time with family & friends playing almost any sort of game. I'd like to be skinnier!

Hi mosaica and welcome! Wow you have an interesting combination of hobbies! What kind of jewelry do you make? I'm not even quite sure what fly fishing is :o (I've only been fishing twice in my life and didn't catch anything either time...well some kind of monster from the deep the 2nd time, which has traumatized me ever since... hehe)
The Big Onigiri.
