Hi I live in ottawa and my interest in japanese cooking came via miso soup. If anyone has any information about where to look into bento lunchboxes in ottawa I would be most grateful!

Hi, I have no idea about Ottawa shops, but Amazon.com and eBay are always good places to look for things.

When I visited my friend in Ottawa (a fellow Japanophile), she took me to T&Ts ( http://www.tnt-supermarket.com/en/# ). They had bentos as I recall. I got cartloads of tea, furikake and a ventilated sushi knife. There on 224 Hunt Club - http://goo.gl/maps/63G9B (google maps). The also do items and food from other east asian countries. Hope that helps.
Well unless you are just determined to have an "official" bento box, you can pack up in other types of containers. There are also companies that ship to Canada, Laptop Lunches being one of them. You can do a web search to find others, just look for lunchbox or bentos and Canada to get the listing. I have ordered myself from Laptop Lunches, and am very happy with what I got. They have lots of things to choose from too, so you should find something to suit you. Packing your lunch is enjoying a revival, and lots of other companies are coming out with solutions of their own. If you check out the department and grocery stores, they may have something to suit your needs as well.
Um. I'm looking for one myself and the only place I can come up with would be T&T supermarket. they just might have some there.
