Hi!
I was given a GF grill for Christmas, and so far, it has been great for burgers, but I've tried little else in it (I did grill unadorned firm tofu in it this morning). I like that I don't have to use oil for most things.
Does anyone else use one of these for their bentos? Any thoughts or recipes?

As long as the ripples/stripes/whatever they are in the grill surface are not too deep, try putting a whole leftover boiled potato on the grill then squashing it hard with the lid before leaving it to crisp up.
I have a little panini press in my office at work that I've used to cook salmon on too. They're actually quite handy - you can even toast bread on one. In fact you can do anything you'd usually use a frypan for - you can fry an egg if you leave the top up.

I really like the grill for vegetables, I can usually grill up 2 eggplants or a dozen zucchini in about 30 minutes. It is really helpful when I don't really feel like cooking since all I have to do is marinate whatever the night before and in a few minutes I can start pulling stuff off the grill.
Yum. I'm going to have to try that idea! I adore potatoes (unfortunately, I'll have to try it next week, when I am not still on the "adjustment" stage of South Beach). That sounds truly good; thanks!
What a fabulous idea! Thanks! I'm really looking forward to this!
i like to sprinkle raw okra with oldBay seasoning and then cook on my GFgrill..the okra will lightly whistle as it becomes ready..(not like a tea kettle whistle, just a slight release of air whistle) I find that cooking okra this way prevents it from becoming slimy.
Among other things, I make french toast using my GF grill. It cooks quickly and it doesn't burn or stick like it sometimes does on the pan.
french toast on the foreman.. AWESOME!!!!!!!! i cook a much as I can on it..it is quick and does not heat up the whole kitchen, especially steaks, chicken veggies....
Dangit! now I'm missing my GF grill...
I would grill thin-ish fillets of fish, with the skin on.
* or chicken breasts.
* or pork chops.
* or mushrooms.
* or thick slices of summer squash (though that comes out pretty juicy, and might need some tweaking to go in a bento)
* toss some long green beans in melted butter and soy sauce, then grill them just long enough to change their shade of green, but still stay crisp.
oh, the possibilities are pretty much endless...
