Anyone see this concept car that Honda introduced at a recent auto show? This it the nearest thing to a bento car. Hello Kitty theme, perhaps they will even have nori textured seat coverings. Take a look. Hope Honda really makes this thing -- gotta have one!

I don't quite get the Hello Kitty vibe. Perhaps if it had a pink elastic band across the hood, or a big bow ... But that customized Toyota IQ is fab-u-lous!

The white/off-white lighting has a certain shiny newness in all of the Japanese online photos. I've seen it recently in some train station photos of bentos. Maybe it's the numerous fluorescent lights. Even in Japan just walking around I noticed it. When I went inside a pachinko parlor, even this seeming moderately lit building had a white, glowing quality. Maybe it's the prevailing, clean sea air, and the clean, shiny surfaces.
