Today's bento contains leftovers from last night's dinner; I made Maki's recipe for curried kidney beans and vegetables, adding a sweet potato that was in danger of shriveling up if I didn't use it. I also threw in extra garlic and cayenne at my husband's request, as he is fighting off a cold and it is said that garlic and spice is good for that sort of ailment. Plus, we just love things extra hot and spicy, so it was quite delicious!
Also included in the bento: jasmine rice; spinach with soy sauce, chili oil and sesame seeds; hardboiled egg.
On the "week 3 goals" front, I think I'm actually going to make it through the week without spending any more money (outside of my predetermined paltry budget) on groceries, ordering pizza, etc... and I even started exercising in the mornings (that was an original goal that I didn't get started on until 3 weeks in, but whatever...); true it is just 10 minutes of cursory squats and crunches blearily and hastily performed in the bedroom at 5:30 in the morning, but it's better than nothing. Oh yeah, and I skipped them this morning. BUT! I will get back to it tomorrow. Now that I have this blog to record all my attempts and/or failings, hopefully the desire to have something positive to type up will motivate me. We'll see! :)
