Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I hope you’ve been enjoying the Back To School Week giveaways so far! Here’s another one for you.

For fans of cute-kawaii products from Japan, From Japan With Love is a must-see website. Each item is hand-selected by Sofia, the owner, as if she were shopping for a friend. The site lists items ranging from plushies to stationery to bath and body items, and of course a selection of very cute bento boxes and kitchen items.

This is the item that For Japan For Love is going to send to one lucky winner, a girly pink box appropriately named The Pleasure Of Lunch Time.

This is a two-tier box, with a total capacity of 630ml. The lid closes with large, easy to handle clips that holds both tiers securely, and is adorned with the illustration of a dog going for a walk with his bento!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I would opt for Totoro!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Hmm...difficult question.

Since I can't think of anything but Sanrio characters at the moment (after your Hello Kitty reference), I'll have to say Chococat.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Hehehe I do love a bit of Hello Kitty, however, when I was a kid I *loved* watching Belle and Sebastian (the cartoon about a boy and his St Bernard in the Pyrenees, not the Scottish band). The two of them were just so lovely!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Domo kun and Kuromi! :) nice giveaway, thanks Maki!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Sorry, but I do love Hello Kitty. She is my fave. I've made my daughter a fan as well. When I was a teen I used to love Keroppi. I had all kindsa things of his.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I love Studio Ghibli, and I think my favorite right now is Jiji from Kiki's Flying Delivery Service. :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I love the Anpanman characters, particularly Melonpanna as my kawaii favorite.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

My favourite character is Dooly (I don't know the correct romanization... It's a Korean character!!), I even have a Dooly pajama! =D
It is just SO CUTE!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I know it's predictable, but Hello Kitty is my absolute favorite anywhere-cute character. I love her.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I always loved the princess from mario cart!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Hello Kitty is cute, but my favorite are the Little Twin Stars.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

My favourite super cute character is CINNAMOROLL..
so cute and adorable..kyaa >.<

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Gotta be Totoro or the soot sprites :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

hahaha very random and he's not really a character per say but the Butt Biting bus amuses me greatly (おしりかじり虫)
otherwise i love tarepanda. It was the first character i really saw and thought was adorable~

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

ha I can't keep the names straight but my daughter is still stuck in Pokemon so i would have to say Pikachu

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Our family loves Totoro and my daughter especially loves the cat bus from My Neighbor Totoro.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Japanese characters...is the characters in manga written by japanese authors in japan considered too? Well, assuming it is, oh no, then i will have an endless queue of favourite characters. Well, i shall pick haruhi from ouran high host club, because she is just so amazing. And i love just how much she understands shou and their romance is great. Ok i'm blabbering and my guess is that you probably have no idea what i'm saying. Regardless, haruhi rocks!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

It's a toss up between Rilakkuma and Domo for me.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

personally i think some of the pokemon of old series were very cute. my favorite among them was the much sought after Mew. he's small (about as big as the famous Pikachu), baby pink colored, and super powerful. btw he says his name soooo cutely. can't stand how cute that little guy is.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Anything by Miyazaki is awesome, especially Jiji, from Kiki's Delivery Service or Noh Face from Spirited Away. Has anyone found bento boxes from the two of those movies, cuz I seriously -need- them =D

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

My favorite would either be Mokona from Magic Knight Rayearth or Chibi-Chibi from Sailor Moon Stars. Soooo cute! ^___^

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Domo-kun! No one cuter. XD Of course I will fall in love with anything Miyazaki as well.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Well Totoro is not very original, but I love him! He and the soot sprites are my favorites.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Ohhh..this is tough! Hello Kitty! Dora Emon! Hello Kitty! Dora Emon! Hello Kitty...

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Tare Panda!!! I have a terrycloth stuffed version on the monitor. :3 It's so cute.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I am afraid I don't know the names of the characters, but they are all pretty darn cute. Of course, we are big Hello Kitty fans!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

It has to be Totoro. I first saw the movie just a few years ago, and just about cried. Then my bf bought me a Totoro plush, just the right size for squishing, with a (comparatively) little leaf on his head and a soot sprite on his shoulder... I squee every time I see the darn thing, much to bf's chagrin!

LOVE the question, Maki ^^

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I love Chopper from One Piece!! 2nd to that is Rilakkuma!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Picking one character that I love is a hard task. I love studio Ghibli in Japan and I love the soot sprites from Spirited Away and from My Neighbor Totoro. The soot sprites are my favorite or it has to be some sort of food with a cute expression on it. They're all good. :3

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I like Bad Badtsu.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I am a science geek so I'm going to go with Aspergillus oryzae from Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture. However, a very close second are the cute kitties from Nyan Nyan Nyanko.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

My favourite cute Japanese character is Totoro! I want to take a nap on his belly. I imagine it to be the warmest, softest, most restful nap ever!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I am not familiar with a lot of japanese characters other than Hello Kitty so I'll go with non japanese fav. Growing up I always loved winnie the pooh. Every year I got tons of Pooh gifts from friends and family.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I also love the soot sprites in Spirited Away! And the little squirrel fox in Naussica Valley of the Wind. Sheesh, all the Studio Ghibli characters are just so stinkin cute.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I love Totoro

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Ok, so I'm thinking cute in a different way....Hagi from the Japanese anime series Blood + is soooooo cute! He could be my boyfriend any day! *Drool*

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

OK, it's not very original but being an avid cat fan I'll have to go with Hello Kitty here. But I can only tolerate HK stuff if it's not too pink and kitschy, though.
Some of the more "mature" designs have a nice look that combines elegance and playfullness, without being *too* kawaii. And I like that style - in moderate doses.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

My favorite cute Japanese character is Totoro.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I'm not really familiar with cute Japanese characters but, being from Finland, I'll say our very own Moomins - quite popular in Japan as well, I understand.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Geeze now this is a tough one. For my favourite cute character I'd have to say Alphonse Elric from Full Metal Alchemist. Yes he's a giant suit of armour that's propelled by his soul that is stuck to the armour thanks to a rune on the inside, but he's just so darned cute! He's convinced of Ed's leadership, he's really innocent, he loves to believe in the good in people despite the hardships and cruelty that he's gone through in his life, and he goes out of his way to help people in need. Plus he had a horrible tendency to hide stray kitteh's in his armour, and anyone who's got a penchant for cats is a-okay in my book.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Hello Kitty is honestly my favourite cute Japanese character. I have far more HK stuff than any 21 year old should have; however, if I had to pick another, I'd have to go with Rilakkuma or Tarepanda, they are both absolutely adorable.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I think Tarepanda is just adorable. I love his floppy face.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

I don't know if kitsune count as Japanese characters, but I love foxes <3

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

My favorite cute character would probably have to be Hakuryuu from the Saiyuki series:) My friend makes fun of me because I really really want a Hakuryuu plushie, but can't find one anywhere. Eventually, I'm probably going to make one for myself ^^;;

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Have you been to the big anime expo that's held every year in L.A? I saw some there. Also at ALA, they had some.

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

My favourite Japanese character are Doremon from the old TV show that I love to watch when I was a kid, Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto and Naruto Shippuden ! :)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

Shimajiro is at the top of our list. My daughter and I got hooked on the potty-training video posted on YouTube. Hilarious!

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

They aren't really characters I guess, but I think tanuki statues are completely adorable! (My second favorite is Totoro.)

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

It's not originally Japanese but I believe I saw it being promoted in Japan also: Moomin, the Swedish cutest characters! I think they would make for great kyarabens :))

Re: Back To School Week Giveaway from From Japan With Love

totoro! and pino, not as well known, she is the cute little cyborg from ergo proxy :)
